Old drip systems used to suffer from internal clogs due to sediment and algae build-up. Newer and better pretreatment, filtration disinfection, and new tubing and emitter designs have all helped to eliminate this problem. And, even if there is a build-up, most systems are set up to allow flushing to remove slime and sediment buildup.

Emitters can suffer from hard water scale build-up. When emitters clog it affects the pressure inside the drip lines. Our Mansfield drip irrigation techs can use a weak acid treatment to remove the scale without compromising the integrity of the system. Part of our maintenance agreement is an annual systems check. Filter checks and back flushing are both included. Back flushing reverses the water flow through the lines and filters to release trapped sediments.
